I remember as a small child. I sat under the big quilting frame as my grandmother and her sisters made quilts, shared stories and worked their love and care into each stitch, each piece of fabric. At about 5yrs old, I was given the honor of being able to hand stitch the small triangles into squares and stars.
I have studied art all my life and worked in many different mediums, but now after so many years I begin again to work with fabric. Though my art pieces are not quilts, there are times, when I am hand stitching...that I can almost hear my grandmother and her sisters sharing stories and stitching love into the quilts.
